About this bag

The Lady Dior was first introduced in 1995 and renamed after Princess Diana carried it, and it has been a fixture of the house ever since. It is instantly recognisable: Cannage topstitching quilted into the body, dangling D.I.O.R. letter charms and two arched top handles. Lambskin and patent leather are the classic materials, and the bag is offered in several sizes, from the Micro upwards. New, it is sold only by Dior, in its boutiques and through its own online store where it operates, not by multi-brand retailers. That is why the New section on this page shows the boutique price with its source and date rather than a retailer link. On the preloved side, the charms, the corners and the lambskin decide most of the price.

Questions

Where can I buy the Lady Dior new?

Only from Dior: in Dior boutiques and in Dior's own online store in the countries where it operates. Multi-brand retailers do not carry new Dior bags. The New section above therefore shows the boutique price with its source and the date it was recorded, without a buy link.

What should I check when buying a preloved Lady Dior?

Each listing carries a grade: New with tags, Excellent, Very good, Good or Fair. All the D.I.O.R. charms should be present and free of deep scratches. Lambskin marks easily, so look at the corners, the edges of the handles and the Cannage panels for rubbing and dents. Patent can discolour. Box, dust bag and receipt make the set complete.

What drives the resale value of the Lady Dior?

Size, material and colour come first, with classic shades in lambskin and patent forming the steadiest part of the market. Missing or scratched charms, worn corners and a softened shape lower asking prices noticeably. Boutique availability matters too: when the version you want is easy to buy new, preloved prices for it tend to sit further below retail.

How is the true cost of a Lady Dior calculated?

We take the best new price in your market, usually the Dior boutique price, and subtract the expected resale value of an Excellent example. That estimate is the median EU asking price for Excellent-or-better listings over the last 90 days, as a share of the German retail reference. It is shown over three years and per year, and only with 10 or more listings.
