About this bag

The Cassette is a Bottega Veneta crossbody built around an enlarged version of the house's Intrecciato weave, which gives it a bolder, more graphic surface than the classic fine weave. It was designed under Daniel Lee and comes in two main constructions: a padded version with plump, cushioned strips and a flat version in which the weave lies smooth. There is no logo on the outside, so the weave is the identifier. New, the Cassette is sold through Bottega Veneta's own boutiques and website and through multi-brand luxury retailers, so prices can differ between sellers and markets. Preloved, the padded and flat versions are worth comparing separately, and asking prices follow colour, construction and how well the weave has kept its shape.

Questions

Where is the Cassette sold new?

Bottega Veneta's stores and website carry it, as do multi-brand luxury retailers such as Mytheresa and Farfetch. This page's New table compares the offers available in your market, sorted by price, with stock status and when each price was last seen.

What should I check on a preloved Cassette?

On padded versions, look for strips that have flattened or creased; on flat versions, for gaps or distortion in the weave. Inspect the strap ends and the edges, where wear shows first, and ask whether the dust bag and receipt are included. Listings here carry one of five grades: New with tags, Excellent, Very good, Good or Fair.

What drives the Cassette's resale value?

Construction (padded or flat), colour and condition. Black and neutral tones tend to find buyers more easily than seasonal colours. Because new Cassettes are widely stocked and appear in retailer sales, preloved asking prices are anchored to what a buyer could pay new at that moment. The live retention score shows the current level.

How is the true cost calculated here?

True cost equals the best new price in your market minus the expected resale value of an Excellent-condition Cassette. The resale estimate uses the median EU asking price of Excellent-or-better listings from the past 90 days as a share of the retail reference, shown over three years and per year. A sale price lowers it directly; sale flags appear only below our own lowest price of the prior 30 days.
